Obligatory Sin City Tribute

Today’s pathetic attempt at paying homage to Frank Miller will only make sense to people who, like me, have seen (or read) Sin City, know the current situation with Modern Tales, and read Fans! regularly. I myself am such a big Fans! fan that I almost invariably stay up until 1 AM Eastern in order to read the next update as soon as it posts (and when my AirPort Base Station wasn’t working I stopped by the wi-fi hotspot in the Best Buy parking lot - actually emanating from the bar across the street in order to get my Fans! fix [the other comics could wait until after work, or even until after the Station was repaired]).
Oddly enough (and sadly enough, as the extra dough might have helped them afford more redundancy), though I’ve subscribed to Modern Tales for a few years now, I never bothered to subscribe to its sister sites, Graphic Smash or GirlAMatic, despite the fact that the former is where Fans! runs (the other sister site, Serializer.net, never interested me enough to subscribe, though to be fair I never gave it much of a look - possibly out of fear that it would push me over the edge and I’d finally subscribe!). This means that, like all non-subscribers, I could only look at the most recent update of each comic. As you may have guessed, I now feel a bit guilty about siphoning all that bandwidth without paying. Admittedly, it was probably negligible, but I’m sure I wasn’t the only one, and it all adds up. As soon as I can (sorry, T, but UY TV Box 8 has priority over everything but rent, utilities and dental bills), I’m going to rectify this. Fans! may be ending soon, but I’ll still be able to read the archives.
Dammit! I wanted to rant about other things, like how I hope Rumy ends up with Tim because, as a big fat geeky slob who hides his true feelings behind a clownish exterior, I like the idea of a big fat geeky slob who hides his true feelings behind a clownish exterior gaining the affections of a cute smart talented Otaku manga artist Asian girl, or about how Alisin is a wish fulfillment character (though totally believable) for myself and, I’m sure, many others, because I doubt I’m the only one whose self-esteem is so low that I wouldn’t know a woman was interested in me (“likes me likes me,” in schoolyard parlance) unless she were to throw herself at me, which seems unlikely, or about how I’m thinking of doing a more serious and personal comic book-style story based on that theme, but I’m tired, and I suspect I’ve already missed the upload time.
Well, except to add that Theater Hopper and Framed!!! did a much better job of parodying Miller’s style than I did.
